Richard A. Bender, CPA
Rick graduated from The Ohio State University in 1966. He then worked at Peat Marwick Mitchell through 1969 and at Laventhol & Horwath through 1976, primarily engaged in auditing medium sized private and public companies. Under David Cohen, Rick expanded his skills to enable him to deliver the full service needs of CBG's clients. Over the years, Rick has continued as a generalist who is able to identify and respond to the many varied needs of his clients either directly or though the cooperation with other professionals. Rick is a Past President of his synagogue, an 1800 family congregation, and a non-profit organization, the Guardians of the Los Angeles Jewish Home. Rick is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Homes for the Aging. Rick is also a member of the International Board of the Israel Tennis Centers and secretary-treasurer of a large private foundation in Los Angeles
Robert L. Golden, CPA
Bob graduated from the University of Southern California in 1984. He then worked for Ernst & Young through 1989, performing financial statement audits for publicly held companies in the entertainment, healthcare and insurance industries. Bob then joined Good, Swartz, Brown & Berns ("GSBB" - now CohnReznick) where he stayed until 2004. While at GSBB, Bob performed financial statement reviews and income tax planning and preparation for middle market businesses and their owners in industries including manufacturing, wholesale, promotional products, real estate, construction and engineering and more. While at GSBB and continuing today, Bob consults with his middle-market business clients to assist their entrepreneurial owners better understand the financial performance of their businesses and to help them improve operational efficiencies and profitability by acting as their outside CFO. Bob also assists with structuring and negotiating financing, compensation planning, as well as merger and acquisition activities. After leaving GSBB in 2004, in addition to continuing to provide consulting services to middle-market companies, Bob was the owner and CEO of several companies and also syndicated commercial real estate acquisitions. In 2015, Bob decided to go back to his roots and passion of public accounting on a full-time basis and merged his practice with Cohen & Bender to create CBG. In addition to being a CPA, Bob is registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a licensed Investment Adviser Representative. Bob is also a member of the Board of Directors of a publicly held company.
Mo graduated from California State University, East Bay with a major in Accounting and Finance. He then worked at a regional firm in San Francisco engaged in tax preparation for high net worth Individuals and partnerships. After moving to Southern California, Mo expanded his tax knowledge to the real estate industry while working at Armanino (then RBZ). Mo also has experience in private industry, working as a senior accountant at a law firm in Beverly Hills that specialized in the entertainment industry. At CBG, Mo leverages his experience to add value to the firm and help clients with their tax and accounting needs.
Sheelah Resnick, MBA, CPA
Sheelah graduated from Ateneo De Manila University (Philippines) with a degree in Business Management with honorable mention. She then received her Master’s in Business Administration at the Ateneo De Manila Graduate School of Business. Sheelah worked as a stock broker and investment advisor for the next nine years at the international brokerage houses of HSBC Securities and Indosuez WI Carr Securities. After this part of her career, Sheelah became an assistant professor for two years, specializing in business management and entrepreneurial research. While teaching, she was writing business articles with focus on family business and its inherent issues and challenges. Prior to joining CBG, Sheelah worked as a business manager / tax associate at another CPA firm in Southern Calfiornia. As part of the CBG team, Sheelah combines her experience as a financial adviser, along with her strong accounting skills to our clients.
Hannah graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Accouting in 2016. In addition to several years of bookkeeping experience while she worked her way through school, Hannah also spent time working in business management. At CBG, Hannah will continue to work with clients handling their accounting and tax needs.
